Political tensions have flared up in Bihar as the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party accused Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor of issuing a threat to shoot Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. The ruling party launched a scathing attack and demanded an immediate public apology from the former political strategist over remarks made during a public gathering. The controversy erupted after a video clip began circulating widely on social media platforms, capturing strong statements regarding the administration and law enforcement methods in the state.
Controversial Remarks in the Viral Video
The circulating video features Bankipur MLA Prashant Kishor publicly criticizing the encounters and security policies in the state. In the footage, he can be heard stating that if shooting criminals is considered the only solution, then no one is a bigger criminal than Samrat Choudhary. However, independent verification of the video's authenticity has not been established yet, though it has already triggered massive political fallout across the region.
Reports also indicate that during these remarks, references were made regarding criminal backgrounds and educational qualifications found in past election affidavits. This ongoing verbal attack highlights the deepening friction between rival political figures in the state as they clash over governance and past records.
BJP Demands Immediate Apology
Condemning the remarks sharply, BJP leader Prem Ranjan Patel urged restraint and adherence to democratic decorum. He stated that political leaders must refrain from using language that promotes violence or implied threats, adding that a public apology is necessary for making such statements.
Adding to the condemnation, Bihar BJP general secretary Preeti Shekhar also accused Prashant Kishor of engaging in rowdy behavior. She emphasized that Samrat Choudhary was chosen unanimously by NDA MLAs to lead the state, making unwarranted personal attacks unacceptable.
