A shocking incident took place in the Muzaffarpur district of Bihar on Monday when two teenage girls cycling to school were ambushed by unidentified motorcycle riders who slashed them with a sharp blade. The students were en route to attend an intermediate test examination when the assault occurred. Both suffered bleeding injuries, triggering panic among commuters and local residents. Bystanders quickly rushed to their aid upon hearing their cries, and the police were promptly alerted about the violent episode.
Ambush Near Chorban Culvert on School Route
The crime occurred near the Chorban culvert, located between Manohar Chhapra and Chhatrapati within the jurisdiction of the Baruraj police station. The two students were cycling toward the Manohar Chhapra Higher Secondary School to sit for their exam. As they crossed the culvert, two suspects on a motorcycle approached them from behind and carried out the sudden blade attack before speeding away from the scene.
The physical impact left one girl with injuries across her neck and back, while her friend suffered blade wounds on her hand. Both students were swiftly transported to a nearby medical facility. Attending medical staff administered first aid and treated their wounds, after which both victims were discharged to recover at home.
Police Launch Manhunt and Review Surveillance Footage
Personnel from the Baruraj police station arrived at the location shortly after being notified of the crime to secure the area and initiate inquiries. Investigators have begun scrutinizing security camera recordings along the stretch and speaking to residents in an effort to establish the identities of the attackers. The motive driving the daytime assault has not yet been determined.
Confirming the occurrence, Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Western Suchitra Kumari stated that law enforcement acted immediately upon learning about the blade attack on the students. Kumari stated, "Raids are underway to identify and arrest the accused in this case."

The violent attack on students travelling along a regular school road has sent waves of anxiety through the local community, particularly among families whose children commute to schools in the vicinity. Parents voiced strong worries regarding safety on rural roads. Police authorities maintain that patrols around the area are being heightened and search teams are pursuing leads to apprehend the perpetrators without delay.
