A shocking and tragic incident has emerged from the Vaishali district of Bihar, where a family dispute over a trivial issue ended in a brutal murder. In a horrifying turn of events, a nephew launched a murderous attack on his own uncle and aunt with a sharp-edged weapon following a disagreement over cutting down a banana tree on a disputed piece of land. The uncle died from his injuries during treatment, while the aunt remains in critical condition and has been rushed to a major hospital in Patna for specialized medical care.

Escalation of the Family Feud

The horrific crime took place in Ismailpur village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Sadar police station in Vaishali. The victim, Amod Ram, was sitting outside his residence late at night. During this time, his brother Mahavir Ram and his nephew Chandan Ram arrived at the spot with the intention of cutting down a banana tree located on a controversial plot of land. This action immediately sparked a verbal confrontation between the two parties. Within moments, the argument escalated dramatically, transforming into a violent physical altercation as tempers flared.

A Fatal Attack with a Sharp Weapon

It is alleged that as the confrontation became heated, Chandan Ram lost his temper and pulled out a sharp-edged agricultural tool, locally known as a hansua, and began repeatedly striking Amod Ram. Hearing her husband's desperate screams, Amod Ram's wife rushed forward in a frantic bid to shield him from the assault. However, the assailant showed no mercy and turned the weapon on her as well, leaving her severely wounded. Both victims collapsed to the ground, bleeding profusely. Family members and nearby villagers quickly intervened and transported the severely injured couple to the Hajipur Sadar Hospital. Upon arrival, medical professionals declared Amod Ram dead. Given the extremely critical state of his wife, doctors administered basic first aid before referring her to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for emergency treatment.

Public Outrage and Roadblock

As news of the murder spread, anger and grief gripped the entire village. On Sunday morning, the deceased's relatives and local villagers took to the streets, placing Amod Ram's body on the Hajipur-Lalganj State Highway (SH-74) to stage a massive protest. The demonstrators completely blocked the road, demanding the immediate arrest of the prime suspect, Chandan Ram, and his accomplice father, Mahavir Ram. The road blockade led to extensive traffic jams on both sides of the highway, disrupting normal commuter movement for hours. Upon receiving information about the law and order situation, Vaishali Superintendent of Police Shubhank Mishra arrived at the scene with a police force. He interacted with the protesting villagers, calmed their anger, and assured them of a swift and impartial investigation, after which the roadblock was finally cleared.

Ongoing Investigation and Background

The police subsequently took possession of the body and sent it to Hajipur Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Local residents revealed that the two families had been locked in a bitter, long-standing property dispute over the land, which was already pending in a court of law. The violent clash was triggered by the attempt to fell the banana tree on this very disputed property. Currently, law enforcement agencies are actively investigating the case from all angles. Continuous police raids are being conducted at various locations to apprehend the absconding suspect, Chandan Ram, and his father, Mahavir Ram. The police have emphasized that the perpetrators will be arrested soon and will face strict legal consequences.
