A brutal attack claimed the life of advocate Azizuddin Ansari, also known as Guddu Ansari, in the Katihar district of Bihar. The incident took place between Harijan Chowk and Patel Chowk, falling under the jurisdiction of the Town police station. Assailants ambushed the advocate on the road, attacking him with a knife before shooting him. The brazen violence sparked panic across the locality. Upon receiving information, personnel from the Town police station rushed to the spot and immediately transported him to a nearby hospital, but medical personnel could not save his life.
Special Police Team Formed Following Family Complaint
Following the advocate's death, his family members submitted a formal application at the Town police station, leading to the registration of a murder case. Recognizing the gravity of the crime, SP Parichay Kumar directed the formation of a special investigation team headed by the Sadar SDPO. The team initiated round-the-clock operations, utilizing technical surveillance, forensic methodologies, and ground intelligence to track the culprits involved in the deadly assault.
Five Suspects Apprehended from Rampada
Through continuous raids and scientific investigation, the police team tracked down and arrested five suspects from the Rampada locality within just 12 hours of the murder. The arrested individuals have been identified as Md Rehan, Md Ashfaq, Inayat, Md Mahfooz, and Munna alias Akhtar. Law enforcement officers recovered an illegal country-made pistol, two live cartridges, a knife, a scooty, a motorcycle, and five mobile phones from their possession. SP Parichay Kumar confirmed the arrests and stated that investigators are currently untangling the entire sequence of events and motives behind the murder.
Sequence of Attack and Investigation into Prior Dispute
The deadly confrontation unfolded when advocate Guddu Ansari was intercepted near Patel Chowk in the Kumhar Toli area of Town police station limits. The attackers surrounded him, knocked him off his scooty, assaulted him with a knife, and subsequently shot him in the head. The perpetrators fled the scene immediately after committing the crime. A video capturing the incident later circulated widely on social media platforms. The victim's relatives have alleged that a pre-existing dispute led an individual to orchestrate the killing. Police officials noted that the deceased was involved in an earlier dispute, which remains the central angle of the ongoing investigation.
