Railway passengers in the Darbhanga district of Bihar have received major news as the Ministry of Railways approved the stoppage of two vital trains at the Laheriasarai railway station. The approved trains include the Jayanagar-Patna Namo Bharat Rapid Rail and the Jogbani-Danapur Intercity Express. This development is expected to benefit lakhs of commuters in Darbhanga city and its surrounding areas by providing direct connectivity to key administrative and commercial destinations.
Approval Granted Following Representation by Local MP
The stoppage of these trains fulfills a long-standing demand of local residents and daily travelers. Darbhanga Member of Parliament Dr. Gopal Jee Thakur had raised this matter with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw through a written request, highlighting the essential need for halts at Laheriasarai. Taking note of the representation, the Railway Minister granted official approval for both train services to halt at the station.
Direct Benefit for Office Commuters, Students, and Traders
The addition of a halt for the Jayanagar-Patna Namo Bharat Rapid Rail will greatly assist passengers visiting the district headquarters, civil courts, and government offices located in Laheriasarai. Furthermore, the Jogbani-Danapur Intercity Express plays a crucial role in connecting the Kosi and Mithila regions with the state capital, Patna. Regular stoppage at Laheriasarai will bring substantial relief to daily wage earners, office employees, students, and traders who travel frequently along this corridor.
Official Notification on Schedule Expected Soon
According to railway officials, the exact implementation date and detailed timetable for the new train stoppages will be formally announced through an official notification in the coming days. The decision is set to save travel time for commuters while simultaneously elevating the operational importance of Laheriasarai railway station within the regional rail network.
