To ease the heavy movement of passengers during the Raksha Bandhan festival, railway authorities have decided to operate multiple special train services. The North Central Railway will run dedicated festival trains to manage the increased travel demand. Importantly, these special trains have been granted operational halts at Dholpur railway station, providing significant relief to commuters residing in Dholpur and adjacent rural and semi-urban localities.
Special Trains Between Jhansi and Hazrat Nizamuddin
Under this initiative, special trains will run on the route connecting Veerangana Lakshmibai Jhansi and Hazrat Nizamuddin. As per the scheduled timings, the special train coming from Hazrat Nizamuddin is set to arrive at Dholpur station around 12:18. On the return leg towards Jhansi, the special train will reach Dholpur at approximately 2:10. Railway authorities confirmed that this particular special service between Jhansi and Hazrat Nizamuddin will operate from August 26 to August 30. Spanning over several days, these scheduled trips will offer flexible travel choices for people making journeys on different dates around the festival.
Additional Rail Services Connecting Khajuraho and Hazrat Nizamuddin
In addition to the Jhansi route, special trains will also operate between Khajuraho and Hazrat Nizamuddin for Raksha Bandhan. Stoppages have been structured at Dholpur station for these services as well. The special train arriving from Khajuraho is scheduled to land at Dholpur station around 1:30. Meanwhile, the train departing from Hazrat Nizamuddin will reach Dholpur station around 4:10. This provision ensures extra transport capacity for passengers heading towards Madhya Pradesh or the national capital region.
Relief From Festival Travel Rush
Raksha Bandhan witnesses a sharp rise in passenger traffic as people travel across cities to spend time with their families. Regular train services often face severe overcrowding during this peak period. By introducing these festival special trains and scheduling pauses at regional hubs like Dholpur, the railway network aims to distribute the passenger load effectively.
