A deeply disturbing incident has emerged from the Sadar police station area in Supaul, Bihar. A minor girl was allegedly kept locked inside a room for nearly a year in Krishnapuri Ward-4 of the Nagar Parishad area. When her family recovered her on the evening of June 30, visible marks of beatings were found on her face. The girl gave a statement before police and family members alleging that she was beaten mercilessly throughout her captivity and that her mother was sold to someone during this period. The incident has sent shockwaves through the locality, and police have taken a woman into custody for questioning.
Family Disappeared in July 2025
The victim girl's father, Manish Kumar Yadav, said that in July 2025, his wife and both daughters suddenly vanished. He tried to lodge a complaint with the police but alleges that no FIR was registered against his complaint. Left without any official support, the family spent close to an entire year searching for their missing wife and daughters entirely on their own.
Elder Daughter Escapes and Returns Home
About a year after the disappearance, the elder daughter managed to break free from captivity and made her way back home. She informed the family that her younger sister was still being held somewhere against her will. The family immediately launched a search, and after considerable effort, recovered the younger girl from a room in Krishnapuri Ward-4 on the evening of Tuesday, June 30.
Rescued Girl Recounts Her Ordeal
The recovered minor told police and family members that she had been kept locked in that room for close to a year. She said she was beaten mercilessly and repeatedly throughout the entire period of her captivity, the marks of which were plainly visible on her face. She also revealed that her mother had been sold. These serious allegations prompted police to treat the matter with the highest urgency and to intensify their investigation without delay.
Woman Detained, Statements Being Recorded
On receiving information about the incident, police acted swiftly and began recording statements from both girls. One woman has been detained and is being questioned extensively in connection with the case. Sadar police station in-charge Ramsevak Rawat appealed to the public to refrain from drawing any conclusions before the investigation is complete. He stated that the case is extremely sensitive and that every aspect is being examined with great care. Police said child safety is the top priority and that legal action will follow based on the statements, evidence, and other facts gathered.
