A comprehensive development drive has been rolled out in Bihar's Munger district to elevate its spiritual tourism infrastructure and give a major facelift to historical landmarks. The revered Ratneshwarnath Temple, situated in Rangaon within Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary's home constituency of Tarapur, will undergo extensive beautification at an estimated outlay of Rs 9.10 crore. The project aims to integrate contemporary pilgrim amenities while preserving the spiritual sanctity of the complex.
Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Floats Tenders
The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Limited has initiated the competitive bidding process, sanctioning Rs 9 crore 10 lakh 44 thousand for the overall transformation of the temple site. The entire tender protocol is being conducted through a secure online platform. Prospective construction bidders can submit their tender documents until December 15, after which the official opening of the bids is scheduled for December 16. Departmental authorities are expediting procedural reviews to ensure that ground construction commences without delay once contracts are awarded.
Grand Ceremonial Gateway and Core Pilgrim Amenities
Architectural plans under this project feature a majestic ceremonial entrance gate that will serve as the focal architectural landmark for visitors. The temple grounds will be secured with a sturdy perimeter boundary wall. To enhance visitor experience during evening hours, an elaborate ornamental lighting system will illuminate the entire sanctuary. Essential infrastructure works also include a robust drainage network to avoid water stagnation during the monsoon, accompanied by dedicated setups for pure and safe drinking water for devotees.
Beautification, Retail Stalls, and Local Economic Growth
The redevelopment incorporates extensive landscape gardening to transform the surroundings into visually pleasing open spaces. Dedicated facilities for pilgrims include three designated prasad stalls, an organized footwear stand, and four separate modern restrooms each for men and women. Upgrading these civic amenities is expected to boost footfall in Rangaon and neighboring pockets, unlocking fresh livelihood avenues for vendors, local artisans, and small transport operators in the Tarapur belt.
Strict One-Year Project Deadline Under Approved DPR
Tourism Department Executive Engineer Om Prakash stated that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the temple's beautification has been finalized. All structural and civil upgrades will be executed strictly in accordance with this DPR blueprint. The department has fixed a strict deadline of one year to wrap up all developmental assignments on the ground. Once executed, the Rs 9.10 crore intervention will cement the Ratneshwarnath Temple not only as a place of faith but also as a prominent regional tourism destination in Munger.
