A major infrastructure push has been initiated in Kota, Rajasthan, to modernise the city's legal ecosystem with the foundation stone laid for an expansive new court complex. Projected to cost roughly Rs 208 crore, this five-storey building is designed to bring cutting-edge amenities to the judicial process. The objective is to make the justice delivery system smoother, while easing everyday challenges faced by legal professionals, judicial staff, and litigants visiting the courts.
Foundation Stone Laid in Presence of Dignitaries
The inauguration of the construction work drew prominent legal and legislative figures. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla alongside Rajasthan High Court Chief Justice Sanjay Agarwal attended the foundation-laying event as honoured guests. Rajasthan Law and Justice Minister Jogaram Patel was also present at the ceremony. Together, the dignitaries marked the official commencement of civil works for this ambitious administrative project.
Five-Storey Structure Featuring 54 Courtrooms and 247 Chambers
The layout of the upcoming facility is planned across five distinct storeys, structured to handle expanding court caseloads efficiently. In total, 54 modern courtrooms will be set up to conduct a wide spectrum of legal hearings and proceedings. Alongside courtroom infrastructure, 247 dedicated chambers are being built specifically for advocates. The architectural blueprint aims to integrate the daily needs of judges, court staff, lawyers, and the general public within a unified and accessible workspace.
Advanced Security and Green Architecture
High-tech security and digital infrastructure will form the backbone of the new complex. Advanced surveillance and screening mechanisms are planned throughout the structure to maintain institutional order and safety. Simultaneously, sustainable design principles are being incorporated to reduce the building's carbon footprint. Energy-saving fixtures and eco-friendly structural features will ensure reduced power consumption along with an organised, climate-responsive working environment.
Target Completion Set for July 2028
This upcoming complex represents a decisive step in reinforcing judicial logistics across the district. According to the approved timeline, all structural and finishing works are slated for completion by July 2028. Once operational, administrative and courtroom activities will transition to this modern address, setting a new benchmark for Kota's legal infrastructure.
