According to local boat operators monitoring the riverfront in Ghazipur, the Ganga's water level is currently surging by approximately 10 to 12 inches every single day. This steady increase in water volume has created hazardous conditions along the banks. In response to the rising waters, the district administration previously installed floating jetties at select major ghats. However, because the river has swollen so rapidly, floodwaters have already reached and partially submerged the jetties in several spots, rendering them increasingly unreliable for visitors and boaters alike.
