The official trailer for the upcoming mythological drama Mahakaavya Shri Ramayan Katha-Shri Ram Ki was unveiled on Thursday, offering audiences a fresh look at the ancient epic designed to impart timeless values to younger generations. The film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas well ahead of the star-studded Ramayana featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi. Because both cinematic projects center on the exact same sacred narrative, conversations and comparisons between the two ventures have naturally gained momentum across film circles.
Depicting the Sacred Journey and Battle for Righteousness
The newly launched trailer highlights pivotal milestones from the divine journey of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita. Viewers are treated to sequences capturing the profound bond shared between Rama and Sita, the hardships encountered during their exile in the forests, the dramatic abduction of Sita, the unwavering devotion of Lord Hanuman, and the climactic clash between righteousness and injustice. Underpinning these sequences is the thematic tagline 'Adharm ke saamne dharm ka naam, Shri Ram', underscoring duty, honour, and virtue as the primary soul of the storytelling.
Ensemble Cast and Key Roles
The cinematic production features a diverse cast bringing legendary figures to life. Dev Sharma takes on the lead role of Lord Rama, with Anjali Arora portraying the character of Goddess Sita. Veteran actor Rajneesh Duggal steps into the imposing role of Ravana. Complementing this central trio, Sheel Verma appears as Lakshmana, while Nirbhay Wadhwa depicts Lord Hanuman throughout the epic saga.
Musical Score and Renowned Vocalists
A major highlight of the project is its expansive musical arrangement, which spans both Hindi and Chhattisgarhi tracks. Prior to releasing the complete trailer, the production team had rolled out the promotional teaser alongside three devotional tracks titled 'Siya Ram', 'Ram Ji Ki Sena', and 'Hey Hanuman', each drawing strong positive feedback from music listeners. The soundtrack brings together acclaimed vocalists including Kailash Kher, Javed Ali, Farhad Bhiwandiwala, Anurag Sharma, and Sunil Soni, with singer Shaan also lending his voice to an upcoming number as additional songs prepare for debut.
Directorial Vision and Release Plans
Directed by Abhishek Singh, Mahakaavya Shri Ramayan Katha-Shri Ram Ki is slated for a simultaneous theatrical release across India in Hindi and Chhattisgarhi on September 25. The film has been produced by Prakash Mahobia and Sanjay Bundela, with Honey Kuldeep Agrawal and Monika Sen serving as co-producers. Ajay Kanojia of AJ Film Entertainment World is presenting the theatrical venture. Meanwhile, the parallel 4000 crore rupee budgeted Ramayana adaptation led by Ranbir Kapoor remains scheduled for an arrival during Diwali.
