Renowned Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is once again making headlines as he returns to the stage with his live music tour. Following the rollout of his 'Aura India Tour 2026', he has been performing across various cities, setting the stage for his upcoming appearance in Indore. The artist is scheduled to perform at the C-21 mall on November 15, but the event has run into regulatory hurdles even before the gates open. The Women and Child Development Department has stepped in with a formal directive instructing event organizers to refrain from playing four specific songs that allegedly promote firearms and intoxication.
Specific Tracks Barred From the Setlist
The District Child Protection Officer has written a formal letter to the manager of the C-21 mall, explicitly barring the performance of tracks titled 'Patiala Peg', '5 Taara', 'Jeebh Vichon Labbiya', and 'Jatt Utte Fir Karda'. As a result, fans attending the Indore leg of the tour will not hear these popular numbers live. The official notice directs that compliance be maintained with a 2019 order issued by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. According to the department, songs that glorify liquor and substance abuse can have a detrimental psychological impact on young minds attending public gatherings.
Complaint by Chandigarh Professor Prompts Action
The administrative action follows a formal complaint lodged by Dr. Panditrao Dharenavar, a professor based in Chandigarh. Because children above the age of five are permitted entry into the venue, the intervention also insists that children must not be invited onto the stage and that the performer should avoid wearing bullet belts during the show. Authorities have clarified that the Indore concert itself is not canceled; rather, the restriction applies strictly to the contested songs that touch upon gun culture and substance use. Copies of the notice have been dispatched to the Indore District Magistrate and the Police Commissioner to guarantee that these instructions are strictly enforced during the live performance.
Prior Security Concerns During the Delhi Kickoff
The latest developments follow the high-profile launch of the tour on October 30 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi, which also experienced initial apprehension and security doubts. Delhi Police later uncovered a deliberate plot to disrupt the concert when the Special Cell arrested three individuals, including a woman, for painting pro-Khalistani graffiti at the Jahangirpuri and Shastri Nagar metro stations. According to law enforcement findings, the suspects had established connections with operatives linked to the banned organization Sikhs for Justice.
