A deeply moving moment unfolded during the world premiere of Ramayana at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles on October 27. Among the audience gathered for the cinematic spectacle were actor Yash's children, Ayra and Yatharv. As the narrative reached the tragic turning point where Yash, portraying Ravana, fatally attacks Jatayu, young Yatharv could not hold back his tears. Witnessing his father commit such violence on screen left the child visibly distraught, catching the attention of cast members present at the venue.
A Child's Innocent Reaction to On-Screen Violence
Actress Sai Pallavi, who portrays Sita in the film, described the tender interaction that occurred immediately following the sequence. She noted that while Yatharv understands his father is an actor performing a scripted part, the emotional reality of seeing a bird harmed proved too distressing for him. The child openly voiced his disapproval directly to his father, insisting that hurting a bird was wrong even within the fictional confines of a movie. Sai Pallavi regarded the child's raw empathy as an unforgettable, touching instance from the evening.
Yash also observed how profoundly the screening affected both of his children, stating that their young minds were flooded with questions as they process early life lessons about kindness and respectful conduct. The depth of feeling shown by his son left the actor genuinely astonished.
Surging Advance Bookings and Global Box Office Demand
The reception in Los Angeles provided immediate momentum to international ticket sales, driving a 27 percent spike in business within just 24 hours of the premiere. In North America, special paid preview screenings are scheduled for the evening of November 4, ahead of the wide theatrical launch. The commercial enthusiasm has translated into massive overseas figures leading into opening week.
By Friday, October 30, overseas advance bookings reached 21 crore 25 lakh rupees, with the American paid previews alone accounting for more than 8.50 crore rupees of that sum. Overall global pre-sales crossed the 40 crore rupee threshold with five full days still remaining before the wide rollout.
A Two-Part Cinematic Scale and Ensemble Cast
The cinematic retelling has been mounted across two distinct feature installments, produced jointly by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios, DNEG, and Yash's Monster. The ensemble features Ranbir Kapoor embodying Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash stepping into the role of Ravana, Ravi Dubey appearing as Lakshmana, and Sunny Deol portraying Lord Hanuman.
Audiences worldwide will be able to see the opening chapter when it hits the big screen on November 5, 2026. The production entities have aligned the release of the concluding second part for the festive window of Diwali 2027.
