Young residents in Mau district aspiring to start their own businesses have a major opportunity to secure interest-free financial assistance under the Chief Minister Youth Entrepreneur Development Campaign. The state initiative offers loans of up to 5 lakh rupees along with direct skill development opportunities for candidates lacking technical training. Designed to shift young job seekers into enterprise creators, the program provides comprehensive training, certification, and institutional credit support. The entire campaign is being directly monitored by the Chief Minister to ensure seamless execution across districts.
Target Demographics and Financial Assistance Structure
The program specifically caters to youth aged between 21 and 40 years, encompassing both technical and non-technical backgrounds. For individuals without prior technical qualifications, the industry department arranges specialized vocational training sessions. Upon completing the coursework, participants are issued official training certificates, enabling them to proceed with their commercial loan applications.
Under the financial component, eligible applicants can obtain interest-free credit of up to 5 lakh rupees to set up new business ventures. The department provides a 100 percent interest subsidy on the borrowed amount, alongside a 10 percent capital subsidy to lower initial setup costs. Furthermore, full coverage under credit guarantee mechanisms is incorporated to safeguard loans, allowing new entrepreneurs to kickstart operations without immediate interest repayment burdens.
Implementation Progress and Outreach Camps in Mau
Sharing performance metrics for the district, District Deputy Commissioner of Industries Officer Harendra Pratap highlighted the enthusiastic response among local youth. Mau district was originally assigned a target to facilitate 2,100 industrial and commercial units under the scheme. However, active institutional outreach has enabled the district to exceed expectations, establishing approximately 2,500 units to date.
To maximize coverage across all sections of society, the administration is organizing widespread promotional drives. Dedicated camps are being conducted across Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and Polytechnic colleges to engage technical graduates. In parallel, block-level awareness drives are operational to ensure rural and semi-urban youth can access the portal and take advantage of state funding opportunities.
Documentation, Project Reports, and Portal Application Guide
To qualify for financial backing under the campaign, candidates must have cleared at least High School (10th standard). The application workflow is hosted entirely on the official departmental portal. Applicants are required to submit key documents, including their Aadhaar card, PAN card, bank passbook, and a detailed project report outlining their planned enterprise.
For candidates unfamiliar with preparing formal business documentation, the department offers digital tools on the portal to generate project reports online. Additionally, entrepreneurs can source quotations for required plant machinery directly from registered vendors listed on the portal. Once the necessary paperwork and quotations are submitted, the department releases the sanctioned amount. The deadline for submitting applications and availing benefits under this scheme is March 31, 2027.
