LPG Gas Cylinder Prices Revised For September: Check New Rates In Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata And Other Cities

Commercial LPG gas cylinder prices have been revised upward across major cities, while domestic cooking gas rates remain unchanged for consumers.

Commercial LPG gas cylinder rates have seen an upward revision at the beginning of the month, impacting businesses and commercial establishments across major Indian cities. While commercial cylinders are now costlier, the pricing for domestic cooking gas has been kept steady without any alterations, bringing relief to households relying on standard cylinders.

New Rates For 19 Kg Commercial Cylinders Across Cities

In Delhi and Noida, the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder is currently priced at 2,747.50 रुपये each. Meanwhile, the rate in Kolkata stands at 2,884 रुपये per cylinder, and consumers in Chennai are paying 2,916.50 रुपये per cylinder for commercial usage.

Commercial LPG is most economical in Mumbai at 2,701 रुपये per cylinder, while Patna records the highest rate at 3,029 रुपये per cylinder. In Bengaluru, the commercial gas is priced at 2,831 रुपये per cylinder. Cities like Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar witness commercial LPG available at 2,996 रुपये and 2,919 रुपये per cylinders respectively. These latest revisions follow a price hike ranging between 9.50 रुपये and 11.50 रुपये per cylinder implemented this month, coming after sharp reductions between July and August.

Crude Oil Pressures And Middle East Supply Concerns

The primary driver behind the recent hike in commercial gas prices is the escalation in international crude oil prices. Global energy markets are currently grappling with elevated crude rates, creating broader inflationary pressures and potential energy supply bottlenecks.

Geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and shipping uncertainties around key maritime chokepoints have severely disrupted international oil and gas flows. Analysts note that damages to regional refineries combined with limited global spare capacity to offset supply shortfalls will likely keep international fuel prices elevated moving forward.

Domestic LPG Cylinders Remain Unaffected

Unlike commercial variants, the pricing for domestic 14.2 kg LPG cylinders has been kept completely unchanged. Households continue to procure cooking gas at established rates across major urban centers.

The domestic market is primarily served by three major brands: Bharat Gas produced by BPCL, Indane Gas supplied by Indian Oil Corporation, and HP Gas managed by HPCL. Cylinders are distributed in various capacities tailored for different consumer segments.

Smaller 5 kg and 14.2 kg cylinders cater primarily to households, making up nearly 90 percent of total gas distribution. In contrast, 19 kg, 47.5 kg, and 425 kg jumbo cylinders are dedicated to industrial and commercial consumers. Additionally, lightweight fiber composite cylinders in 5 kg and 10 kg sizes have been introduced as a modern, translucent option within the domestic category.
