The cultural hub of Jodhpur recently witnessed a remarkable display of devotion and faith, as worshippers danced late into the night to the rhythms of devotional hymns. The occasion marked the third annual celebration of Baba Shyam's moving idol alongside the very first Hindola festival ever organized in the city's history. Held at Sindhu Mahal, this grand religious gathering drew massive crowds of devotees who were deeply moved upon receiving blessings and witnessing the divine ornamentation of the deity.
The Hindola Celebration and Exotic Floral Decor
The primary highlight of the entire event was the special swing festival dedicated to Baba Shyam. Devotees offered swings to the deity with immense reverence and emotional devotion. For this special occasion, an extraordinary and otherworldly adornment of Baba was arranged. Special flowers and garlands were sourced not only from various parts across the country but also imported from overseas. Among these decorations, the striking pink floral garlands remained the central center of attraction for everyone present.
Completing Three Years of the Moving Idol in Jodhpur
Organizer Dimple Kaur Bedi provided details explaining that three full years have passed since Baba Shyam's moving idol was first brought to Jodhpur, marking the reason for holding this third annual celebration. Wherever major kirtans take place, this moving idol is specially installed there. The service and upkeep of this idol are managed by Maa Jhandewali Darbar Jodhpur. In addition to this, an established idol of Baba Shyam is also housed at the Shri Manchhapurna Mahadev Shri Shyam Temple located in sector fourteen of Jodhpur, where local devotees hold deep religious reverence.
Devotional Singers Captivate the Gathering
During the course of the programme, renowned bhajan singer Ayush Somani from Jaipur and popular local Jodhpur singer Sonu Vadwani performed captivating renditions of devotional songs dedicated to Baba Shyam and Maa Jhandewali, immersing the entire gathering into an ocean of devotion. Moved by the rhythm of the hymns, worshippers raised their arms and danced. The situation was such that the entire venue overflowed with Shyam devotees, while chants echoing praises filled the atmosphere continuously.
