A fresh chapter of industrial growth and employment generation is currently unfolding amidst the rugged terrain of the Ganeshwar hills in Sikar. A brand new industrial zone is being established by RIICO, spanning an expansive area of approximately 36.42 hectares. What sets this development apart is the strict mandate to permit only eco-friendly industries that generate negligible pollution. This ensures that while job opportunities multiply, ecological preservation remains a top priority. Construction work is progressing at a rapid pace, with authorities anticipating the entire project to reach completion in about six months.
Transforming Uneven Terrain Into Modern Infrastructure
The land, which was once characterized by deep pits and an undulating, rocky surface, now wears a completely transformed look of systematic development. Earth-moving equipment and truckloads of soil are being deployed to level the ground effectively. The foundational infrastructure is already taking shape, with the construction of seven distinct road networks successfully completed within the zone. Following the completion of these roadways, essential utilities such as power supply, drinking water pipelines, drainage systems, and other foundational amenities will be established to ensure a seamless operational environment for future businesses and workers.
Expansion of Industrial and Commercial Plots
The revised planning for this developmental project has significantly amplified its investment and employment potential. Initially, the blueprint outlined a modest count of 61 industrial plots. However, anticipating higher commercial demand, the total number of industrial plots has been substantially increased to 98. In addition to manufacturing spaces, the layout incorporates 26 commercial plots and dedicated shop spaces to cater to the daily needs of the workforce. Situated safely within the hills, the zone remains strictly reserved for non-polluting enterprises, with land-levelling activities continuing concurrently alongside the road network development.
Financial backing for the initiative was officially cleared on September 23, 2024, with a sanctioned budget of 29.65 crore rupees. Once fully operational, this hub will open doors for fresh investors, ranging from micro-entrepreneurs to large industrialists. The ripple effect of this commercial activity will directly benefit ancillary local sectors, including retail shops, transport services, construction suppliers, eateries, and various service providers. Upon full completion in roughly half a year, the project is projected to create direct employment for over 500 individuals.
Cringing the Need for Youth Migration
The most profound impact of this upcoming industrial cluster will undeniably be felt in the employment sector. Generating upwards of 500 direct jobs once manufacturing units go live will serve as a massive boon for the regional workforce. Currently, young job seekers from Sikar and surrounding localities frequently find themselves compelled to migrate to distant cities in search of steady work. The establishment of localized industrial units will successfully reverse this trend, granting youth stable livelihood prospects right within their home region.
