A major case of impersonation has come to light in Ajmer during the physical efficiency test for the Sub-Inspector (SI) and Physical Training Instructor (PTI) Recruitment Examination 2026. The incident occurred at the CRPF campus venue on August 4, when a female candidate, named Munni, allegedly claimed to be ill and sent her sister to take the physical test in her place. The fraud was uncovered during the mandatory document and biometric identification process, where officials noticed that the person presenting herself did not match the official records. Following the revelation, administrative authorities filed a formal police complaint to initiate strict legal action.
Photo Verification Uncovers the Impersonation Attempt
According to official details, the physical efficiency test for candidates who had successfully cleared the written phase of the SI and PTI recruitment drive was scheduled at the CRPF complex in Ajmer from August 3 to August 11. On the second day of testing, August 4, candidate Munni cited poor health as the reason for her absence and substituted her sister to appear for the rigorous physical test instead. The impersonator arrived at the venue and attempted to pass herself off as the genuine candidate before the administrative board.
During the candidate verification stage, officers stationed at the venue cross-referenced every applicant's credentials, photographs, and personal details against the registered database. When the administrators reviewed the file for candidate Munni, they observed a distinct mismatch between the physical appearance of the female present and the official photograph stored in the system. Further scrutiny of identity details confirmed that the woman standing for the exam was not the actual candidate. Recognizing the gravity of the violation, officials alerted higher authorities and began administrative proceedings.
Formal Police Complaint Lodged at Alwar Gate Station
Following a written report submitted by the exam administration, the Alwar Gate Police Station in Ajmer registered an official case to investigate the fraud. Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Rakesh Kumar of Alwar Gate Police Station confirmed that the police received a formal complaint regarding the attempt by an unauthorized individual to take part in the recruitment test on behalf of a candidate. Based on the administrative complaint, police logged an FIR and commenced a detailed probe into the matter.
ASI Rakesh Kumar explained that the physical efficiency test was conducted specifically for candidates who had passed the written recruitment exam, covering a testing window between August 3 and August 11. He stated that following the detection of impersonation on August 4, law enforcement officers are now examining administrative records and verifying all physical documentation submitted at the test site to establish a clear timeline of events.
Police Investigation Probes the Depth of the Conspiracy
Investigators are now actively working to uncover how the impersonation strategy was planned and executed. ASI Rakesh Kumar noted that police are probing the exact sequence of events that led to substituting the candidate with her sister, including who originally conceived the plan and whether external facilitators were involved in assisting the swap.
Police are also determining the exact stage of the physical testing process that the fake candidate managed to reach before being caught by the verification team. The investigation involves a thorough review of test center logs, registration papers, and personal identification records of both candidate Munni and her sister. Authorities emphasized that once the full investigation is complete, strict legal action will be taken against every individual involved in the impersonation plot.
