The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has issued an assurance to all its members regarding the integrity and confidentiality of their records, stating that necessary safeguards are in place to prevent any information leakage. Addressing apprehensions surrounding subscriber privacy, the retirement fund management clarified that comprehensive preventive protocols are actively maintained to ensure that sensitive records remain protected, affirming continuous vigilance across all operational layers going forward.
Matter Linked to Common Service Centres, Not Core Data Infrastructure
Addressing the context of recent discussions, the fund body clarified that the issue under scrutiny relates strictly to the Common Service Centre (CSC) setup rather than its primary software or data centers. The organization highlighted that administrative advisories regarding system vulnerabilities represent an ongoing routine oversight procedure. In line with those internal assessments, operations rendered through the external Common Services Centres network were formally halted with effect from March 22, 2018.
Preemptive Server Shutdown Undertaken for Security Verifications
Highlighting its proactive approach to digital safety, the retirement fund entity stated that preventative steps were initiated well in advance. Host and server connectivity provided through the Common Service Centres network was shut down pending detailed vulnerability evaluations to safeguard member assets and private information. The entity reaffirmed that this preemptive severance eliminated risk vectors associated with external touchpoints.
By shutting down the intermediate service pathways, the organization reiterated that subscriber information remains thoroughly safeguarded against unauthorized exposure. The body reiterated its operational commitment to upholding stringent data safety benchmarks across all future administrative workflows, ensuring complete subscriber peace of mind.
