The festive season of Diwali has transformed Bastar Gol Bazar into a vibrant marketplace with rows of shops dedicated to home decoration items. A wide variety of readymade flowers and decorative accessories are now on display, drawing residents who are eager to spruce up their homes. Shoppers and sellers from various nearby villages have also gathered at the market to be a part of the festive trade.
Dozens of stalls line the market
Around 20 to 30 shops are neatly aligned in a row within Gol Bazar, offering an extensive collection of colourful cloth and plastic flowers alongside multiple styles of decorative hangings. Customers have access to a diverse color palette including red, yellow, and green options, allowing them to match their interior styling preferences.
Pricing structure for home decorations
The pricing for these decorative items has been kept accessible for everyday shoppers looking to adorn their living spaces. Readymade flowers designed specifically for entry gates, doorways, and worship spaces are readily available. Decorative hangings start at 30 rupees and go up to 300 rupees, while comprehensive flower arrangements for home interiors range between 400 and 500 rupees.
Washable materials ensure long-term use
Roughly 90 percent of the flowers sold across these stalls are crafted from high-quality fabric. These items are fully washable, meaning they can be cleaned easily and reused across a span of three to four years without losing their appeal. This durability makes them a practical and economical choice for festive decorating.
Traders note that business conditions are running smoothly this season due to lower rainfall compared to previous periods. The favourable conditions are encouraging residents to step out and purchase their preferred decorative items to enhance the beauty of their households.
