A shocking and tragic incident has emerged from Haridwar district in Uttarakhand, where a man killed his two biological sisters just days before the celebration of Raksha Bandhan. The incident took place late Tuesday night in the Gangnahar police area of Roorkee. The perpetrator shot dead both sisters and left his brother-in-law critically wounded during the rampage. Executing the attacks within a brief span of 10 to 15 minutes across two separate locations, the gunman sparked widespread panic and prompt law enforcement action across the locality.

Initial findings indicate that the suspect, identified as Vivek Kumar, initiated his violent plan on Tuesday evening by heading directly to the residence of his sister Pushpa. Armed with a firearm, he shot Pushpa, resulting in her immediate death at the scene. Without delay, Vivek Kumar fled that location and reached the home of his second sister, Shakuntala, situated approximately 10 to 15 minutes away.
Upon arriving at Shakuntala's house, Vivek opened fire indiscriminately at both Shakuntala and her husband. Shakuntala succumbed to gunshot wounds on the spot, while her husband sustained severe injuries and collapsed. Neighbors alarmed by the gunfire rushed to the site and immediately alerted the local police station. Emergency responders transported the injured husband to a medical facility, where doctors report his condition to be critical.

Sources indicate that Vivek Kumar harbored persistent suspicion regarding the character of both Pushpa and Shakuntala.
