A concerned father recently walked into the local child helpline office accompanied by his seven-year-old son to submit a formal written complaint against his wife. According to project officer Panne Singh of the child helpline, the aggrieved father stated in his application that his wife left the family home roughly six months ago to live with another individual in a live-in relationship, taking both children along with her. The situation escalated when the mother allegedly subjected the seven-year-old boy to severe physical abuse and expelled him from the residence. Left to fend for himself, the young child eventually managed to track down and reach his father.
The father has been left deeply shaken by the mistreatment of his son. He fears that if the mother can inflict such abuse on the older boy, his three-year-old daughter is facing an equally dangerous environment under her care. Consequently, he has urged administrative officials and the child helpline team to intervene immediately, rescue the toddler from the mother's custody, and place her under his protective care.
Intervention by Child Welfare Authorities
Prompted by the urgency of the complaint, the child helpline administration initiated immediate steps. Project officer Panne Singh confirmed that given the sensitive nature of the case, the seven-year-old boy was presented before the Child Welfare Committee.
