A severe controversy erupted at the Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital, commonly known as JLN Hospital, located in Ajmer, after a woman accused a medical professional of grave misconduct and inappropriate behavior. The incident reportedly took place inside the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit or PICU ward of the medical facility, where a family had arrived from Kishangarh to seek urgent medical treatment for their ailing child. Coming from a different town out of deep concern for their little one's health, the family did not anticipate facing a distressing ordeal within the premises of a major public healthcare institution.
According to the allegations raised by the family members, a resident doctor posted at the hospital directed obscene remarks and behaved inappropriately toward the child's mother. Furthermore, the relatives alleged that another hospital staff member present at the scene also acted in a vulgar manner alongside the doctor. Disturbed by the unacceptable conduct, the family immediately approached the hospital administration to lodge a formal complaint, expecting prompt disciplinary action against the individuals involved in the misconduct.
However, the situation escalated into a full-scale protest inside the hospital premises when the administration allegedly failed to take immediate action upon receiving the complaint. Frustrated by the lack of a swift response, the relatives and supporters began demonstrating right inside the hospital grounds, creating a tense atmosphere. Upon receiving information about the growing commotion, a police team from the Kotwali police station rushed to the spot to intervene, manage the crowd, and restore order.
Following the intense protest and public outcry, the hospital administration formed a three-member investigation committee to look into the allegations. Based on the preliminary investigation and evidence gathered from the security cameras, resident doctor Shubham was found culpable in the matter. Reports also indicated that the accused resident doctor left the premises immediately after the incident came to light.
