A horrifying incident of gang rape involving a 13-year-old girl has surfaced from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The victim, a seventh-grade student, was allegedly abducted by two minors and an 18-year-old youth before being subjected to sexual violence. Taking prompt action following the complaint, local police apprehended all three suspects the following day. A formal case has been registered under stringent legal sections at the Wave City Police Station.
Incident Timeline and Abduction Details
According to details shared by the police administration, the incident transpired on Wednesday afternoon at approximately 2:30 PM. The young girl had stepped out of her house alone to buy Chinese food from a nearby eatery. Seizing the opportunity, the three suspects intercepted her along the path and forcibly abducted her. They led the victim to an isolated, vacant room located outside the residence of a relative belonging to one of the minor suspects in the same locality.
The perpetrators held the girl captive inside the deserted room for nearly an hour, during which the assault took place. At around 3:30 PM, the suspects let her go. Since her house was situated close by, the girl managed to walk back home on her own. Upon noticing her delay and questioning her, her parents learned of the ordeal. The victim's mother immediately approached the Wave City Police Station to lodge a formal complaint.
Legal Action and Police Statement
Following the complaint, Wave City Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Priyashree Pal initiated immediate legal steps. She confirmed that an FIR had been registered at the Wave City Police Station based on the mother's complaint. Police invoked Sections 137(2) for kidnapping and 70(2) for gang rape under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), alongside provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
ACP Priyashree Pal stated, "Based on the complaint, an FIR has been registered under relevant sections, and the victim has undergone a medical examination." She added that the findings of the medical evaluation cannot be disclosed at this stage of the investigation while due legal process is underway.
Suspect Backgrounds and Police Apprehension
Investigation revealed that all three suspects reside in the same neighborhood as the victim and were previously acquainted with her. Furthermore, all three suspects are students themselves. Police teams launched a swift operation on Thursday, resulting in the apprehension of the suspects from the area where the crime allegedly occurred. Authorities took the two minor boys, aged 16 and 17, into custody and formally arrested the 18-year-old youth.
