A highly alarming incident has emerged from Samiya village within the jurisdiction of the Sunel police station in Jhalawar district, where a brazen attempt was made to abduct three sixth-grade schoolgirls as they were walking home from their institution. The shocking episode has sent a wave of panic across the entire region, triggering deep anger among local villagers and parents. However, a major tragedy was successfully averted thanks to the quick thinking and presence of mind displayed by the young students.
The abduction attempt under the guise of selling scrap
According to available details, after the final bell rang at the government school in Samiya village of the Sunel region, three girls enrolled in the sixth standard were heading home on foot. Along the way, two individuals arrived aboard an auto-rickshaw. To lure and entrap the children, the accused used the pretext of selling scrap material to engage them in conversation. The moment the girls sensed their malicious intentions and tried to get away, the culprits forcefully pulled them into the auto-rickshaw in an attempt to kidnap them.
Brave rescue by alert villagers
Faced with a moment of extreme crisis, the young schoolgirls chose to act with remarkable composure rather than panic. Even while trapped in the clutches of the accused, all three students simultaneously began shouting and screaming at the top of their lungs. Hearing their cries, local villagers rushed toward the spot immediately. Realizing that their plan was failing, the accused attempted to flee in the auto-rickshaw, but alert villagers showed immense courage, chased them down, and pinned both suspects within a short distance. The villagers then handed the apprehended culprits over to the police.
Protests and Hanuman Chalisa recitation outside Sunel police station
As news of the incident spread, tension escalated rapidly throughout the locality. A large gathering of local residents and activists from various Hindu organizations assembled outside the Sunel police station. The demonstrators expressed severe anger against the police administration and demanded strict legal action against the accused. With the atmosphere heating up outside the station, the participants staged a peaceful protest by sitting down and reciting the Hanuman Chalisa to demand swift punishment for the perpetrators.
Police investigation underway as safety concerns mount
Recognizing the gravity of the matter, the Sunel police station team swung into action without delay. Police took both suspects into custody from the villagers and launched a detailed interrogation. Authorities are currently investigating whether the accused possess any prior criminal records or if they are members of a larger criminal syndicate. Following this terrifying episode, parents in rural areas are gripped by profound anxiety regarding the safety and security of school-going children.
