A special POCSO court in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh delivered a decisive judgment on Tuesday in a case involving the sexual assault of a minor girl by her father. Special Judge Avneesh Kumar convicted the father and awarded him life imprisonment, alongside imposing a fine of ₹20,000. Due to prompt police investigation and strong scientific evidence presented before the court, the entire trial was concluded within a period of just three months. The incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Kamalapur police station.
False Pretext and Crime in Forest Area
The incident occurred on May 17, 2026. The accused, identified as Matole, a resident of Gavhiya village in the Kamalapur police area, took his minor daughter from his sister's house under false pretenses. He lied to the girl, claiming he was taking her to meet her mother in Rajasthan. Instead of taking her to her mother, he led her to an isolated forest area and sexually assaulted her. The traumatized victim eventually reached home and recounted the incident to her mother, who immediately reported the crime to the local police station that very day and lodged a formal complaint against her husband.
Forensic Evidence and Fast-Track Investigation
Following the complaint, Kamalapur station officer Itul Chaudhary initiated immediate legal action. Police conducted a medical examination of the survivor and collected key physical evidence from the crime scene, including broken buttons from the accused's shirt, hair strands, and the victim's clothing. These samples were dispatched to the forensic science laboratory, which scientifically confirmed the crime. Police arrested the father and dispatched him to judicial custody. Demonstrating swift efficiency, the police filed a detailed chargesheet in court on June 2, 2026, just ten days after the incident, under the POCSO Act and relevant penal provisions.
Trial Conclusion and Compensation Order
The trial proceeded rapidly before Special Judge Avneesh Kumar. The prosecution built a solid case by submitting forensic proof alongside statements from the victim and witnesses. Finding the accused guilty beyond reasonable doubt, the court awarded him life imprisonment and imposed a monetary penalty of ₹20,000. The judge ordered that failure to pay the fine would result in additional jail time for the convict. Furthermore, the court directed that the entire fine amount of ₹20,000 be paid to the survivor as financial relief.
