Security forces have successfully busted a militant hideout in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. Acting on intelligence regarding suspicious movements, the Indian Army launched a meticulous search operation that led to the discovery of this underground or concealed storage site used by anti-national elements. A massive assortment of lethal weapons and explosive materials was seized from the location.
Massive Recovery of Ammunition and Explosives
During the operation, troops recovered a large volume of live cartridges and tactical gear from the spot. The seized items include 237 rounds for a rifle, 16 pistol rounds, and 101 rounds of PK round belt. Furthermore, security personnel recovered 4 rounds of under barrel grenade launchers and 3 live hand grenades. This successful operation was executed by the 60 Rashtriya Rifles (Naga) battalion, which conducted sweeping searches across forested terrain and near residential perimeters.
Additional Gear and Ongoing Investigation
Along with the weaponry, the troops also seized an AK bayonet, two AK magazines, a carry bag, and a ground sheet from the site. Security agencies are currently analyzing the recovered materials to trace their origins and determine which terror network was utilizing this hideout. Investigators are working to establish the intended targets of these arms and identify the individuals responsible for establishing the cache. Area domination patrols and sanitization operations remain active across the region.
