A harrowing incident of late-night stalking and assault on a public road in South Delhi has surfaced, raising sharp alarms regarding women safety in the national capital. During the intervening night of September 11 and September 12, 2026, a 21-year-old working professional was chased, harassed with lewd comments, and then deliberately knocked down by two unidentified men riding a motorcycle near Panchsheel metro station in the Hauz Khas jurisdiction. The impact caused the young woman to crash and slide across the asphalt for a distance of approximately 100 to 150 metres, leaving her with severe injuries.
Mid-Night Pursuit Near Panchsheel Park
The victim is employed at an office in Saket and was commuting back home on her scooter late at night after concluding her shift. As she approached the vicinity of the Panchsheel metro station within the Hauz Khas area, two unidentified men travelling on a motorcycle began tailing her vehicle. The duo continuously hovered beside her scooter, making inappropriate remarks and jeering loudly to intimidate her as she navigated the road.
Sensing imminent danger to her personal safety, the woman accelerated her scooter in an urgent effort to break away from her pursuers. However, each time she increased her speed, the motorcycle riders accelerated in tandem. Refusing to let her escape, the assailants continued their aggressive pursuit along the road while taunting her continuously.
Deliberate Collision Drags Two-Wheeler Along Asphalt
After trailing her over some distance, the men suddenly steered their motorcycle directly into her scooter, striking it with heavy force. The severe blow knocked the two-wheeler off balance, sending the young woman crashing down onto the road surface. Because of the ongoing momentum, the victim along with her vehicle was dragged across the road for an estimated 100 to 150 metres before coming to a complete stop.
The extended friction against the hard surface tore away skin across multiple parts of her body, inflicting grievous and painful abrasions. After executing the brutal crash, the two motorcycle riders fled the scene into the night. Nearby commuters and local passersby rushed to provide assistance upon witnessing the aftermath. Good Samaritans arranged for an ambulance to transport her for emergency care. Despite her intense physical trauma, the woman managed to share her real-time live location on her smartphone with friends and colleagues, who quickly arrived at the crash site.
Treatment Shifted From Max Saket To Medanta Noida
The injured woman was initially brought to Max Hospital in Saket for immediate medical stabilization and treatment. Given the extent of the trauma and deep surface wounds across her body, she was subsequently transferred to Medanta Hospital in Noida for specialized intervention. Attending medical specialists evaluated the severe epidermal injuries and recommended that she undergo plastic surgery to repair the extensive skin damage caused by the prolonged dragging.
Police Register FIR As Missing CCTV Stalls Investigation
Following the harrowing ordeal, the victim submitted a formal police complaint outlining the chain of events. Authorities registered a First Information Report (FIR) against two unidentified individuals and initiated a manhunt to trace the perpetrators. However, the police investigation has encountered significant preliminary hurdles due to the lack of available CCTV footage directly covering the exact spot where the incident occurred. Law enforcement teams are currently examining surveillance cameras along adjoining stretches and alternate escape routes to identify the motorcycle's registration number and track down the culprits.
