A violent assault unfolded in the busy Kashmiri Gate area of Delhi, where armed assailants intercepted a moving e-rickshaw and carried out a deadly knife attack on the passengers inside. The robbery attempt resulted in the death of a young man, while two other individuals suffered injuries during the struggle. The violent incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Kashmiri Gate police station, right inside the Yamuna Bazar underpass.
Interception En Route From Gandhinagar to Khari Baoli
The victims were traveling from Gandhinagar market toward Khari Baoli when the confrontation occurred. A total of four people were inside the e-rickshaw, including the driver, when Prabhat and two members of his family made their way through the route. As the vehicle moved through the Yamuna Bazar underpass, a gang of miscreants blocked its path, forced it to a halt, and demanded valuables from the occupants.
Deadly Stabbing Following Resistance to Robbery
When the passengers put up resistance against the robbery, the criminals produced knives and launched an aggressive assault on them. All three passengers sustained stab wounds during the violent scuffle. After inflicting the injuries, the assailants fled the scene immediately. The injured men were rushed to a medical facility for urgent care, where Prabhat succumbed to his knife wounds during treatment, while the other two injured victims continue to receive medical attention.
Police Launch Hunt for the Attackers
The Kashmiri Gate police station received an emergency call reporting the stabbing incident near Yamuna Bazar around 7:30 PM on September 24, 2026. Police officers promptly arrived at the location to inspect the crime scene and coordinate the response. Along with personnel from the local police station, an operation team from the North District was deployed to investigate the case. Investigators have collected vital clues from the area and are working to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in the fatal robbery.
