A disturbing incident of street harassment and attempted forced entry into a vehicle has come to light from the Mukherjee Nagar area of the national capital. A female student walking with her friend near Hakikat Park was verbally abused, stalked, and nearly pulled inside an SUV when she stood up against derogatory remarks. Following a formal written complaint submitted by the victim, the local police promptly initiated legal action, registering a regular criminal case to bring those involved to justice.
Details of the Late Evening Encounter Near Hakikat Park
According to the facts presented by the victim, the entire sequence took place on the night of September 23 at approximately 9:30 PM. The student was walking along the road accompanied by her friend when occupants travelling inside a Safari SUV passed objectionable remarks towards them. When the victim firmly objected to the inappropriate comments and asked them to stop, the occupants turned aggressive and began hurling verbal abuse. The situation escalated rapidly as the young women tried to walk away to safety, only for the car to tail them persistently over a significant stretch of the road.
The complainant further stated that at a short distance down the road, the person operating the SUV made a blatant attempt to pull her inside the vehicle by force. After managing to escape the dangerous situation, the victim narrated the entire ordeal on social media platforms, alleging that a student from the Faculty of Law was behind the reprehensible conduct.
Tracing the Vehicle and Police Action
Recognising the severity of the allegations, Delhi Police acted without delay upon receiving the written complaint. Investigators traced the ownership record of the Safari car bearing registration number DL11CF4447 that was deployed during the incident. Police questioning determined that the vehicle was being driven by Naman, son of Anil Kumar, who was accompanied by 2 to 3 other individuals inside the cabin at the time.
Accordingly, Mukherjee Nagar police station registered FIR number 390/26. The case has been framed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), invoking Section 78 for stalking, Section 79 for acts intended to insult the modesty of a woman, and Section 3(5) concerning joint criminal liability.

Authorities confirmed that the primary suspects have been traced using the identified registration number of the vehicle. Dedicated police teams are systematically verifying every allegation and examining technical evidence to reconstruct the timeline of events.
