Security agencies in the national capital were put on high alert on Tuesday morning following a terrifying threat warning that the Delhi Assembly complex would be blown up. The threat message was delivered directly to the official email address of the Delhi Assembly Speaker at approximately 8:39 AM. The sender claimed that explosives had been targeted at the assembly premises, causing immediate concern among officials and prompting a swift deployment of law enforcement personnel across the location.
Comprehensive Search Sweeps the Assembly Complex
Upon receiving the alarming electronic message, officials promptly alerted the Delhi Police. A dedicated team of police officers rushed to the assembly site to carry out a comprehensive security evaluation. Law enforcement personnel conducted thorough checks across the entire building and its surrounding grounds to ensure there was no threat to public safety. After completing a meticulous sweep of the premises and finding nothing suspicious, the police squad departed. Initial findings indicate that the threat originated from a Khalistani organization, and authorities are currently investigating the electronic trail to identify those responsible.
Pattern of Repeated Security Hoaxes in the Capital
This incidence of hoax security scares is not isolated in the national capital. Previously, on July 11, a similar emergency unfolded when a caller issued a bomb threat against the iconic Red Fort. The threat was made via a phone call to the Mumbai Police control room, where the caller stated that the landmark was in danger. Recognizing the urgency, Mumbai Police immediately notified the Delhi Police control room, which routed the intelligence to the North District Police. Officers responded quickly by securing the area and sweeping the perimeter of the Red Fort. Following an exhaustive inspection, North District Police confirmed that the call was entirely a hoax.
Earlier Threats Targeting the Delhi Secretariat and Red Fort
Just a day before the Red Fort phone call, on July 10, both the Red Fort and the Delhi Secretariat received simultaneous bomb threats. Security personnel launched large-scale search operations at both vital installations. According to information provided by the Delhi Fire Service, the warning regarding the Delhi Secretariat arrived through an email message. Fire brigade teams were dispatched immediately to the site to assist security units during the sweep. Detailed inspections were conducted throughout the facility, but investigators uncovered no explosive devices or hazardous materials.
Widespread School Hoax Threats in Nagpur
Similar psychological threats using electronic mail have been reported in other states as well. On the morning of August 18, more than 12 schools in Nagpur, Maharashtra, received bomb threat emails from a Gmail account. The emails ominously warned that explosions would take place across the school campuses on August 31. Taking immediate action, police authorities mobilized multiple response units to inspect each threatened educational institution. Law enforcement officers conducted extensive search operations throughout the premises of all affected schools. After searching every building thoroughly without locating any dangerous substances, officials confirmed that the email threats were completely fake.
