Delhi Police have apprehended Aqib alias Imran, the primary suspect in the brutal murder of 21-year-old social media influencer Muskan, following a late night encounter in West Delhi. Acting on a specific tip-off, a Special Staff team laid a trap to intercept the fleeing suspect. When cornered, Imran opened fire on the officers, triggering retaliatory gunfire in which he sustained gunshot injuries to his leg before being taken into custody.
Gunfight Breaks Out at Rajouri Garden Nala Road
The Special Staff unit received precise intelligence regarding the movement of the suspect linked to the murder case. Acting on the lead, officers established a tactical trap near Nala Road in Rajouri Garden. As soon as Imran arrived at the spot and noticed the police presence, he drew a firearm and initiated firing at the team. Police officers immediately retaliated in self-defense, hitting the suspect in the leg and disarming him.
Following the brief exchange of fire, police personnel secured the injured suspect and rushed him to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team subsequently inspected the encounter site to collect ballistic evidence, recovering cartridge shells and weapons used during the confrontation.
Stabbing Incident Inside Tilak Nagar Home
The violent incident traces back to Wednesday night in the Mahavir Nagar locality of Tilak Nagar. The suspect allegedly broke into the residence of 21-year-old student and social media influencer Muskan and repeatedly stabbed her with a knife. Muskan succumbed to her injuries, after which Imran fled the scene. Delhi Police launched an extensive manhunt and registered a case of murder to track down the fleeing attacker.
1.5 Years of Acquaintance, Obsession, and Prior Record
Preliminary investigations reveal that Muskan and Imran had known each other for about 1.5 years. Investigators suspect that Imran carried out the attack after growing suspicious of Muskan's friendship with another individual, driven by jealousy and obsession.
Police records indicate that Imran is a drug addict with a past criminal record, including a case previously registered against him for attempt to commit culpable homicide. According to a statement from Muskan's friend, Imran exhibited abnormal behavior and constantly stalked her. He would frequently corner her in public to force conversations and repeatedly harassed her whenever she refused to engage with him. Authorities plan to interrogate Imran further once doctors declare him fit for questioning.
