A major road accident occurred in the Delhi Cantonment area on Wednesday morning when a DTC bus traveling toward Dhaula Kuan collided head-on with a dump truck. The crash left the bus driver severely injured with a leg fracture, while three occupants of the truck suffered injuries. Fortunately, all passengers traveling inside the public transport bus escaped unhurt without sustaining any injuries during the impact.
Details of the Crash Near Thimayya Traffic Light
According to official reports, the collision took place near the Thimayya traffic light junction shortly after crossing the Delhi Cantonment flyover. The Delhi Cantonment Police Station received an emergency PCR call reporting the incident at approximately 8:23 AM. Local police units responded immediately, reaching the site to secure the area and manage emergency relief operations. All four injured individuals were swiftly transported to the nearby Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital for medical treatment. Inspecting officers confirmed that no bus passengers suffered physical harm during the event.
Identities and Condition of the Injured
The DTC bus was being driven by 45-year-old Kashmiri Singh, a resident of Sonipat in Haryana. Kashmiri Singh sustained the most severe impact in the accident, resulting in a serious leg fracture. The dump truck was operated by 26-year-old Pritam, originally from Uttar Pradesh, who was accompanied in the vehicle by 28-year-old Manoj and 18-year-old Roshan. All three truck occupants are employees of the Delhi Cantonment Board and were heading to work for their daily duties when the collision happened. Pritam and Manoj received minor injuries in the crash.

Law enforcement officials stated that further legal action will proceed once the formal Medico-Legal Case (MLC) reports for both drivers are finalized. Investigators are examining surrounding CCTV camera footage and recording statements from eyewitnesses to reconstruct the precise sequence of events.
