A shocking case from Tilangpur Kotla village in the national capital Delhi has come to light, where a domestic dispute ended up claiming two lives. A man first attacked his wife with a battery, killing her, and then took his own life by consuming poison.
What sparked the fight
According to the police, the accused has been identified as Vinay and the victim as his wife, Nisha. The couple reportedly got into an argument over some issue, though investigators are still working out exactly what triggered it. In a fit of rage, Vinay picked up an Exide battery kept at home and attacked Nisha with it, leaving her critically injured.
Husband consumed poison after attacking his wife
Soon after injuring his wife, Vinay decided to end his own life. He swallowed tablets of aluminium phosphide, commonly known as sulfas. In a strange turn, it was Vinay himself who called his sister after consuming the poison and told her what had happened, and it was through that call that the family first learned of the incident.
Rushed to hospital, but neither could be saved
As soon as word got out, family members and police rushed both of them to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, but by then it was already too late. Doctors declared Nisha dead on arrival, while Vinay succumbed during treatment. Both husband and wife from the same household ended up losing their lives.
Case registered, police investigating
Delhi Police said postmortem examinations were carried out on both bodies, which have since been handed over to their relatives. Ranhola police station has registered a murder case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and is closely investigating the matter to determine what exactly led to the dispute.
