A joyous family celebration turned into tragic mourning in East Delhi's Kalyanpuri area late Wednesday night after a 22-year-old man was brutally stabbed to death outside his residence. The victim, identified as Jai Singh alias Ganju, was attacked just ten days after becoming a father, leaving his grieving family in total shock. Authorities confirmed that the fatal assault took place shortly before 1:00 AM on the street connecting Block 11 and Block 15.
Clever Ruse Used to Lure Victim Outside
According to family members, the household was in the middle of celebrating the arrival of the newborn infant when two young men arrived at their doorstep around 12:46 AM. The suspects lied to the family, claiming they had gotten into an ongoing fight with someone on the street nearby and needed immediate help. Believing the story, Jai Singh and several family members rushed outside to assist them. However, as soon as Jai Singh stepped out onto the road, the assailants launched a sudden knife attack on him, inflicting severe stab wounds before fleeing.
Hospital Pronouncement and Prompt Police Action
Following the violent attack, family members immediately rushed the heavily bleeding victim to nearby LBS Hospital for urgent medical care. Upon arrival, examining doctors declared Jai Singh dead on arrival. Following the incident, Delhi Police registered a formal criminal case under relevant statutory sections and initiated a swift investigation to track down those responsible.
Arrest of Suspects and Ongoing Investigation
Moving rapidly, police teams located and apprehended the two primary accused involved in the crime. Law enforcement officers also successfully recovered the knife used to execute the fatal stabbing.
