Five Centers Host the Exam From Afternoon to Evening
The NEET-UG 2026 examination was held simultaneously at five centers across Sagar district on Sunday, running from 2 PM to 5:15 PM. The district administration and NTA jointly established a two-tier security framework for the occasion, with police personnel, home guards, and a specialized private security agency working in coordination to maintain order and prevent any malpractice throughout the process.
Five Minutes Too Late: Two Candidates Miss Their Chance
Before the examination even began, a distressing episode unfolded at the center set up inside Shaskiya Kanya Swashasit PG College. Devendra Singh Kushwah and Kapil Verma, both of whom had traveled from Pipariya Naryawali, reached the venue approximately five minutes after the entry gates had closed. Officials at the center refused them entry in keeping with the prescribed rules.
The two candidates pleaded with officials stationed outside and then approached the Collector directly when she arrived at the venue for her inspection round. She listened to their request but declined to make any exception, stating that NTA's regulations leave no room for leniency in cases of late arrival. Both candidates left the premises visibly dejected.
Collector Reviews Arrangements at All Five Venues
The Collector personally visited all five exam centers in the city, checking the arrangements at each location. She reviewed the CCTV surveillance setup, the security deployment, the availability of drinking water, electricity backup systems, and the facilities provided for parents waiting outside. Officials at every center received clear instructions to ensure the examination was conducted in a fully peaceful and transparent manner.
Special Provisions for Female Candidates and Weather Preparedness
Adequate numbers of female police personnel and female home guards were posted at each center to carry out checks on women candidates. Given the weather conditions, waterproof tents were erected outside the exam halls, and supplies of drinking water, glucose, and ORS packets were kept on hand for candidates and their accompanying family members. A control room was kept on standby with an ambulance, doctors, and paramedical staff in readiness to respond to any medical emergency that might arise.
Exam Wraps Up Without Any Significant Incident
Barring the late-arrival episode at one center, the NEET-UG 2026 examination in Sagar concluded in a peaceful and orderly manner. The administration's thorough preparation and the comprehensive security presence across all five venues ensured that the exam was carried through without any major disruption.
