Riding high on extraordinary box office momentum, the biographical drama 'Hanuman Ansh' based on Neem Karoli Baba continues to draw massive crowds in theaters even after 37 days of release. The movie has successfully crossed the monumental milestone of 200 crore rupees in collections. Despite receiving overwhelming appreciation from viewers across the country, the film missed out on becoming India's official entry for the Academy Awards. Producer Namrata Singh has now openly addressed the real factors behind this missed opportunity.
Why the Film Missed the Oscar Deadline
During a media interaction, when questioned about why the film was not submitted for the Oscars, the producer clarified that the team lacked proper knowledge regarding the submission procedures. With a small core team juggling multiple responsibilities simultaneously, the crucial deadline of September 7 slipped past them. Acknowledging the numerous inquiries they received regarding the absence of an Oscar submission, the maker explained that procedural ignorance and heavy work pressure caused them to miss the critical cutoff date entirely.
Language Expansion and Accessibility Plans
Discussing future distribution plans for 'Hanuman Ansh', the makers confirmed that the film has currently been dubbed exclusively in Telugu, while work on adaptations in other regional languages is planned for subsequent phases. Additionally, the production team is actively working on making the cinematic experience accessible to specially-abled audiences, ensuring that every section of society can enjoy the film without barriers.
Slow Initial Run and Dramatic Box Office Turnaround
The theatrical journey of 'Hanuman Ansh' did not begin with immediate blockbusters numbers. On its opening day, the movie managed a modest collection of just 10 lakh rupees. During the first two weeks, the cumulative earnings stood at a modest 1.48 crore rupees. However, a massive surge in positive word-of-mouth eventually transformed the film's fortunes entirely, leading to an explosive growth spurt starting from its 16th day in cinemas.
Stellar Box Office Numbers
The film picked up incredible momentum as weeks progressed, raking in 61 crore rupees in its fourth week and setting a record with a 90-crore collection in its fifth week. On its 37th day, marking the sixth Saturday, the movie further added 18.50 crore rupees to its kitty. This pushes its total net collection in India past 192.13 crore rupees, while gross earnings have scaled up to 227 crore rupees. 'Hanuman Ansh' has been written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi.
