Sudesh Lehri Shares Video on Instagram
Sudesh Lehri posted a video on his Instagram handle stating that he is not making the video for himself but for Daler Paji. He mentioned that as an artist, he knows how emotional and gentle an artist's heart is. He added that the way Daler Paji is being portrayed in the viral videos circulating online is completely wrong.
Strong Objection to Stage Mistreatment
Sudesh Lehri strongly objected to the misbehavior that took place on stage with Daler Mehndi. Highlighting his 30-year-old relationship with Daler, Sudesh said that he and many artists around the world learned stage etiquette, professional attitude, and respect for art from him. He stated that if anyone had an issue, it could have been discussed privately backstage, and confronting someone publicly on stage is entirely unacceptable.
Claim Regarding Alcohol Consumption
Praising Daler Mehndi further, Sudesh added that in the last three decades, he has never witnessed Daler Mehndi drinking alcohol, nor has anyone ever claimed that he consumes alcohol. Concluding his message, Sudesh wished Daler Mehndi good health, expressed full support, and assured him that everyone stands by his side.
Background of the Entire Incident
Notably, this incident took place on October 18 during the famous Kunjapuri Fair in Tehri district of Uttarakhand, where Daler Mehndi was performing live. During this cultural event organized on the occasion of Navratri, a cabinet minister and local MLA suddenly reached the stage. The minister halted the performance midway and accused the singer of arriving to perform under the influence of alcohol, which he claimed violated the dignity of the religious event.
