Transition From Acting to Writing and the Legendary Duo
Salim Khan originally began his career in the film industry as an actor, taking on minor side roles in a few productions. However, when acting did not bring him the major breakthrough he sought, he transitioned toward screenwriting. He subsequently partnered with Javed Akhtar to form the legendary 'Salim-Javed' duo, creating cinematic history by writing blockbuster films such as 'Sholay', 'Deewaar', 'Zanjeer', and 'Don'.
First Meeting in 1963 and Subsequent Marriage
The personal relationship between Salim Khan and Helen began when they first met in 1963 on the sets of the movie 'Kaabili Khan'. In that project, Helen played the lead role while Salim Khan appeared as the villain. Their professional acquaintance gradually blossomed into romance, and the two tied the knot in 1981. Although Salim Khan was already married at the time, his entire family warmly and openly accepted the relationship over the passage of time.
