The actor had also claimed that he was previously unacquainted with Sonam Wangchuk. In response, the scientist and social worker has strongly refuted these assertions, expressing deep displeasure over the remarks. During a recent podcast appearance, Wangchuk addressed the actor's statements and shared his side of the narrative.
Jibe at Ghajini Character and Memory Loss
Speaking on a podcast hosted by Prakhar Gupta, Sonam Wangchuk reacted to Aamir Khan's claims by suggesting that the actor perhaps got a bit too immersed in his '3 Idiots' era counterpart, or rather his 'Ghajini' persona. Wangchuk remarked that numerous videos had surfaced showing the actor watching his speech while dressed in his 'Ghajini' outfit. He sarcastically added that being in that attire might have caused temporary short-term memory loss, making him forget things fifteen minutes later, which is why he is not surprised, despite the fact that they had met in great detail.
Detailed Meetings and Exchange of Ideas
Elaborating further, Sonam Wangchuk noted that the actor is widely known for getting intensely absorbed in his roles. He quipped that perhaps the immersion in 'Ghajini' was so absolute that the actor even forgot the award function where both were present while Wangchuk was receiving an award. Wangchuk asserted that he had held extensive conversations with Aamir Khan on multiple occasions, during which both individuals actively exchanged thoughts and ideas.
The Connection with 3 Idiots
Clarifying his stance on the famous film, Sonam Wangchuk stated that he would never call '3 Idiots' a direct biopic or a film based strictly on his own life story. Instead, he described his connection with the movie as one rooted in influence and inspiration. According to him, it is quite possible that Aamir Khan subconsciously absorbed several ideas from their discussions and incorporated them into an existing film script. He added that even the writers of the movie might not have been fully aware of the original source of those concepts.
