On August 19, the question paper for the BSc First Year subject 'Fundamentals of Genetics' began circulating hours before the exam was scheduled to commence. This marks the third consecutive paper leak incident at the agricultural university, raising concerns among students regarding the integrity of the institution's evaluation process.
Six-Hour Prior Breach and Complete Question Match
The examination was scheduled to take place at 10 AM on August 19. However, the question paper leaked at approximately 4 AM on the same morning, six hours prior to the commencement of the session. A subsequent verification revealed that 100% of the questions on the leaked document matched the official question paper distributed in the examination halls. The complete alignment confirmed that confidential test materials were breached well before reaching candidates, leading to distress among students who demanded structural reforms in exam security.
Executive Direction and Chief Minister's Warning
Following the emergence of the leak, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai issued a strict directive regarding accountability. The Chief Minister stated that no individual involved in the breach would be exempted from consequences, affirming that "No culprit will be spared in this case and strict action will be taken against the guilty." The intervention indicates an escalated state level inquiry into the administrative vulnerabilities within the university's examination branch.
Police Complaint Lodged and Internal Probe Initiated
In response to the security breach, university administration initiated preliminary procedural steps. IGKV Registrar Kapildev Deepak confirmed that upon receiving confirmation of the leak, immediate steps were taken. The university dispatched the Director of Instruction to the local police station to report the matter and facilitate a formal law enforcement investigation. Concurrently, an internal departmental inquiry has been launched to trace the source of the compromise across paper setting, printing, and distribution channels.
