Artisan Deepak Prajapati explained that since devotees traditionally immerse the idols in water bodies like the Ganga or at home following days of prayer, using sustainable materials ensures a smooth immersion process without harming the environment. The pricing in Meerut ranges widely from 100 rupees to 50,000 rupees depending on the size and intricacy, with larger artistic installations being crafted exclusively on advance orders.
Unique Divine Mounts and Artistic Themes
Creators have introduced fresh and imaginative variations this season, moving beyond the traditional mouse mount. Lord Ganesha is being sculpted seated gracefully on majestic creatures such as peacocks, Nandi, and lions. Furthermore, special thematic idols depicting Lord Rama and Krishna avatars have also been introduced, catching the eye of numerous buyers. Residents and visitors wishing to bring home these divine creations can purchase them from markets near the Medical College, Thaper Nagar, and the GIC College area in Meerut, all carefully fashioned by the Prajapati community keeping ecological balance in mind.
