Major MDMA Drug Ring Busted in Faridabad, Three Arrested Including South African National

Police in Faridabad have dismantled an illegal narcotics syndicate, seizing MDMA worth 13 lakh rupees and arresting three individuals, including a South African citizen.

Law enforcement authorities in Faridabad have achieved a major breakthrough against illicit drug trafficking, uncovering a network involved in the procurement and supply of banned substances. The Border Crime Branch unit successfully apprehended three suspects, including a foreign national, in connection with the case. Officers recovered a commercial quantity of narcotics, seizing 126.96 grams of MDMA with an estimated market value of around 13 lakh rupees. Initial findings indicate that the illicit trade was operated through a structured chain involving both local peddlers and international connections.

First Arrest Made in Surajkund Area

The operation began on October 7, 2026, when the Border Crime Branch team acted on a tip-off. Based on this intelligence, police intercepted a suspicious individual along the Surajkund-Ankhir Road and conducted a search. The suspect was identified as Sangam, a resident of Dayalpur village in Faridabad. Upon searching him, officers recovered 126.96 grams of prohibited MDMA from his possession. A formal criminal case was registered against the accused at the Surajkund police station, and he was promptly taken into custody.

Revelations and Subsequent Arrests During Remand

Following the arrest, police produced Sangam before a court and obtained a 5-day police remand for interrogation. During questioning, the primary accused revealed crucial details, stating that he procured the MDMA from a South African national residing in Noida. He admitted to selling the narcotic substance in smaller quantities locally to earn profits. The investigation also uncovered that Vineet, a resident of Bisrakh in Noida, had purchased approximately 4 grams of MDMA from Sangam for resale. Acting swiftly on these leads, the crime branch arrested both the South African national and Vineet on October 11.

Foreign National Residing Illegally After Visa Expiration

A thorough police investigation revealed that the detained South African citizen, Odecamara, had overstayed his legal residency in India. Odecamara originally entered the country in 2019 on a study visa. However, his visa expired in 2023, after which he continued to reside unlawfully in the Noida area without valid authorization. Investigators are now probing how he managed to evade law enforcement for so long and examining the extent of his connections within the broader trafficking syndicate.

Further Legal Proceedings and Custody

The other two accused individuals, Sangam and Vineet, were presented in court following their initial custody period and sent to judicial custody in jail. Meanwhile, the South African national, Odecamara, was placed on a 5-day police remand to facilitate deeper questioning regarding the supply sources and wider network of the drug ring. Faridabad police are continuing their probe to uncover all dimensions of the narcotics distribution chain.

Coming on a study visa in 2019 and staying hidden in Noida without valid papers even after it expired in 2023 is really shocking.

How people keep roaming around even after their visa expires is a major security concern.

Arjun Mehta@arjun-mehta·53m ago

Ravikash, you have a point, but an expired visa alone doesn't run this entire network. The local supply chain is equally active and needs more focus.

It is really scary to see foreign nationals roaming around Noida and Faridabad without valid visas selling drugs, lately we have started noticing suspicious people in our area too.

Spot on, Rohan. When people stay back illegally even after their study visas expire, police really need to launch intensive checks on paying guests and rented flats across Noida and Faridabad.
