A reckless display of stubbornness over an expensive smartphone unfolded in the Nuh district of Haryana, causing intense anxiety among local residents and authorities. A young resident of Jahatana village had demanded an expensive phone from his parents. When his family declined to fulfill the costly demand, the youth became deeply infuriated and resorted to an extreme measure that threw the entire locality into a state of panic.
Dangerous protest on a high-voltage tower
Furious over the refusal, the youth stormed out toward the outskirts of the village and began climbing a massive high-tension power line tower. Within moments, he ascended to a considerable height on the metal framework. Shocked villagers spotted him perched perilously above the ground, triggering immediate chaos. The sight left his family members terrified, while a massive crowd quickly assembled at the foot of the tower.
Police intervention and tense rescue effort
Recognizing the immediate peril, concerned locals promptly alerted the police department. A police team rushed to the scene without delay. Officers joined hands with village elders and onlookers to launch concerted efforts to coax the young man down. Rescuers spent considerable time negotiating with him, urging him to reconsider his dangerous protest. Following prolonged persuasion and strenuous efforts, they successfully convinced him to climb back down to safety.
Incomplete wiring averts catastrophic tragedy
Disaster was averted primarily because construction work on this transmission corridor was still underway. While the towering metal structure was in place, the electrical conductors had not yet been strung across the towers. Had the power line been fully operational and charged with electricity, the outcome could have been fatal. Visuals capturing the dramatic standoff subsequently surfaced on social media platforms, drawing widespread shock and disbelief over the youth's hazardous reaction.
