A shocking case has emerged from Sector 2 in Panchkula, Haryana, where a domestic helper allegedly murdered her employer inside a private bungalow and then hid the woman's body on a neighbour's rooftop. The victim was the wife of a Captain who has retired from the Indian Army.
An argument over missing gold jewellery
According to the initial investigation, gold jewellery had gone missing from the house, and the woman suspected her domestic helper of the theft. She confronted the helper and began questioning her about the missing ornaments. The exchange soon turned into a heated argument, during which the helper allegedly lost her temper, attacked her employer and killed her.
Body hidden on a neighbour's terrace to erase evidence
Police said that after the killing, the accused helper tried to cover her tracks. She allegedly carried the victim's body out of the house and hid it on the rooftop of a neighbouring home, apparently hoping that no one would discover the crime and that she could leave the scene without being noticed.
Police recover the body, send it for postmortem
Once the incident was reported, police teams rushed to the spot. After searching the area, they recovered the woman's body from the neighbour's terrace, took it into custody and sent it for a postmortem examination. During the investigation, police also confirmed that jewellery had indeed been stolen from the house and that the victim had already suspected her domestic helper before the confrontation that led to her death.
Accused detained, questioning underway
Police have taken the accused domestic helper into custody and begun interrogating her. Investigators are now trying to establish exactly who stole the jewellery, how the murder unfolded, and whether anyone else helped the accused hide the body. The investigation into the case continues.
