Rajiv Bansal Rinku, the proprietor of Regal Restaurant, is desperately searching for Jerry, his pet pug who went missing on the evening of September 18. Determined to reunite with their beloved companion, the owner has declared a cash reward of 25,000 rupees for anyone providing credible information leading to his recovery.
Disappearance Outside the Home and Crucial Camera Clues
Jerry had stepped outside the family residence near the Old Post Office in Dabwali during the evening hours of September 18 and failed to return home. Growing anxious, the family immediately searched nearby lanes and examined security cameras installed outside various local shops and residential properties. Surveillance recordings captured two individuals riding a scooter through the local market area, carrying the pug away. Armed with this visual evidence, Rajiv Bansal lodged a formal complaint with the police to help track the suspects.
Confrontation Follows Identification but Yields Bizarre Alibi
Using the vehicle details and security camera footage, the identity of the two scooter riders was verified. On September 23, Rajiv Bansal tracked down their location and visited their home. Although Jerry was nowhere to be seen on the premises, the two men admitted that they were indeed the riders visible in the video clips. However, they vehemently denied abducting the pet, claiming that what appeared to be a dog in the footage was merely a bag of vegetables they had purchased. This explanation left the family without any direct lead on Jerry's current whereabouts.
A Loved Household Companion Since 2023
Sharing their bond, Rajiv Bansal recounted that the family had brought the pug puppy home in 2023 and named him Jerry. Over time, he became an inseparable household member rather than just a domestic pet. The family celebrates his birthday every year on February 22 by cutting a cake with all members participating in the festivities. Dogs are intensely loyal creatures that bond deeply with their human guardians, and being abruptly separated from their family environment can cause severe distress and even prove fatal. With days passing without news, the household remains deeply unsettled.
Bounty Surpasses Market Worth Fivefold
To incentivize local citizens and speed up the search, the restaurant owner progressively raised the reward amount. On the initial day of Jerry's disappearance, an announcement of 5,100 rupees was made. After a few hours passed without any productive leads, the incentive was increased to 11,000 rupees. When two additional days yielded no clues, Rajiv Bansal raised the bounty to 25,000 rupees. While a typical pug puppy carries an average market price of approximately 5,000 rupees, the owner has offered five times that sum, reflecting the family's profound emotional attachment to Jerry.
