Weather patterns across Haryana have begun shifting noticeably as the southwest monsoon departs from most parts of the state. While bright and clear sunshine continues to keep daytime conditions relatively warm, nighttime temperatures have started falling, ushering in the early onset of mild autumn chill.
Fluctuating Temperatures and Forecast for September 26 to 28
Across various districts, daytime maximum temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday settled above seasonal normal levels. In contrast to daytime warmth, nights have grown cooler with each passing day. A fresh western disturbance is expected to influence the region starting the night of September 26. Under its impact, skies are likely to remain cloudy with spells of light rain or drizzles across scattered pockets from September 26 through September 28, especially over parts of northern Haryana around September 27 and 28.
Expected Drop in Mercury by Two to Three Degrees
The upcoming spell of cloudy skies and showers is projected to pull temperatures down by approximately two to three degrees. Following these anticipated rain events, night temperatures are likely to drop further, making the pleasant seasonal nip in the air more pronounced. For now, the region continues to experience warm afternoons followed by cool nights.
Advisory for Agricultural Operations
Meteorologist Dr. Madan Lal Khichar noted that Haryana had experienced dry weather over the past several days alongside the ongoing retreat of monsoon winds. He advised farmers to manage field operations carefully according to soil conditions. Sowing of mustard should be undertaken only when adequate soil moisture is available. For cotton growers, picking of narma cotton should strictly be carried out after sunrise once the morning moisture evaporates. Furthermore, light irrigation should be provided to vegetable crops only where necessary.
