Law enforcement authorities in the Baddi region of Himachal Pradesh's Solan district are intensifying their ongoing campaign against narcotics trafficking. Beyond merely confiscating illegal substances and arresting offenders, the police have launched targeted financial operations against properties amassed through the illicit drug trade. In this latest crackdown, movable and immovable assets worth approximately ₹2.08 crore, belonging to a single family in Nalagarh, have been frozen under statutory legal provisions.
The Origin of the Financial Investigation
The legal proceedings trace back to a case registered at the Nalagarh police station on May 12, 2024. During that operation, authorities recovered 6.68 grams of heroin, commonly known as chitta, from the possession of Gurpreet Singh, also known as Jatta, a resident of Tikkar Panauh in Nalagarh. As the investigation widened, investigators initiated a detailed financial audit into the assets held by the accused and their relatives. After tracing the monetary sources and establishing financial links to the illegal trade, the authorities proceeded with asset-freezing protocols.
Actions Against Family Assets
The financial probe uncovered multiple assets registered under the names of family members linked to the syndicate. Properties associated with Amarjit Kaur, valued at approximately ₹80.07 लाख, have been frozen. This haul includes a Tata Punch vehicle, an Activa scooter, roughly 7.15 biswas of land, and a two-story residential building constructed upon it, all acquired through suspected illicit funds.
Properties Tied to Satnam Singh
Investigators also targeted assets connected to Satnam Singh, alias Satti. This component includes an Activa scooter, a Maruti Zen car, and a house built on 2.15 biswas of land, totaling around ₹83.15 लाख in estimated value. According to police records, this specific land and the accompanying residential structure are officially registered in the name of Himanshi Sahotra, the wife of Satnam Singh.
Main Accused and Total Valuation
In addition to the assets held by his relatives, a residential property and land located in Nalagarh belonging directly to the primary accused, Gurpreet Singh, have been frozen. The market value of this property is estimated at roughly ₹45 लाख. Combined across all three components, the total estimated worth of the properties frozen in connection with this family syndicate stands at approximately ₹2 crore 8 lakh 22 thousand.

Baddi DSP Yograj Chandel stated that the local police campaign against drug trafficking remains unrelenting. He emphasized that operations are not limited to seizing narcotics and detaining suspects, but extend to a thorough financial examination of assets tied to the illegal trade. He affirmed that freezing and attachment actions against such properties will continue robustly in accordance with the law.
Broader Crackdown on Syndicate Wealth
According to Baddi Police figures, authorities have targeted movable and immovable assets valued at roughly ₹5.5 crore linked to drug traffickers over the past week alone. Law enforcement officials reiterated that individuals involved in narcotics networks will face continuous, systematic actions, ensuring that illegal wealth accumulation is met with severe financial penalties.
