Political friction has intensified in Himachal Pradesh following sharp exchanges between Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and local representatives. BJP MLA from Balh, Inder Singh Gandhi, has strongly reacted to the Chief Minister's recent taunts regarding his frequent references to having thirty-two teeth, asserting that his statement is entirely factual.
Addressing the media in Mandi
Addressing a press conference in Mandi on Monday, Inder Singh Gandhi launched a direct counter-offensive against the Chief Minister. He remarked that if the Chief Minister had thirty teeth, he would state that number instead, accusing him of a habit of making public falsehoods and claiming that he is a leader who misleads even inside the assembly.
Targeting public statements and political rivals
Recalling the Chief Minister's recent visit to Balh on the preceding Saturday, the BJP legislator alleged that numerous incorrect claims were made from the public stage. He criticized the open endorsement of Prakash चौधरी as the upcoming electoral candidate, asserting that the residents of Balh are well aware of his past actions. According to Gandhi, letters that had circulated previously revealed how local citizens, particularly women, were treated. He further asserted that the BJP will secure all ten assembly seats across Mandi district, adding that former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur remains the primary leader for all legislators in the region.
Controversy over project inaugurations
Inder Singh Gandhi stated that the projects inaugurated during the Chief Minister's tour were actually initiated during the tenure of former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur and himself. He claimed that institutions which were originally opened by the previous administration had been shut down out of political vendetta after the current government assumed power, and are now being re-announced as fresh initiatives.
Reasons behind boycotting the official event
Explaining his absence from the official functions, the MLA pointed out that the foundation stones and inauguration plaques for the projects did not carry the name of the duly elected local representative from Balh, even though other names were included, which led to his decision to boycott the event.
