Rajouri district has reported large-scale damage after flash floods swept through the region. Poonch has also suffered loss of life and property in the flooding. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed deep anguish over the deaths reported in Poonch.
CM to return from Delhi to take charge in Jammu
Omar Abdullah announced that he would return from Delhi to Jammu to personally oversee relief and rescue operations. He said safeguarding precious lives remains the top priority and that affected families would get all possible assistance.

The Centre has also been tracking developments. Amit Shah reviewed the flood situation in Jammu and Kashmir and coordinated relief efforts with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
